SPCA Wednesday! Meet Daisy Duke, and Jewel!

January 4, 2017

Know what makes Coonhound mix Daisy Duke, 5, and Australian Cattle Dog mix Jewel, 7, so special?

Sure, it could be their stunning, good looks. Their luxurious, shiny coats. Their pleasing personalities. Their collective ability to win your heart at a glance.

But more than that, these two lovelies just graduated from the PUPS AT THE PEN program run by the SPCA and the Erie County Sheriff's Office! SPCA dogs are trained by female inmates at the Erie County Correctional Facility...lots of love is lavished on them as they're being trained...and they receive nearly constant attention from their trainers and facility staff! Both dogs have been housetrained, crate trained, and MORE!

Graduation was January 3! The dogs have completed their session and they're ready to be adopted at the SPCA's Tonawanda shelter! Behavior and Training Department staff will work with adopters to show them the lessons Daisy and Jewel have learned, so the training can continue!
