Independent Health "Healthy Tailgating Recipes" Winner!

This week's Independent Health's "Healthy Tailgating Recipe" winners are Arlene Leising with her Buffalo Wing Popcorn recipe & Karen Gietler for her Stuffed Celery!  Scroll down for their winning recipes, and try them for your next tailgate!

 

Buffalo Wing Popcorn

8 cups popped popcorn
3/4 cup sugar& 1/4 cup water in medium saucepan. Boil until a dark amber color forms.(about 10 mins.)
Remove from heat, add:1/3 cup hot sauce & 3 tbsp. Butter slices. Return to heat another 3 or 4 minutes.
Remove from heat, stir in 1 tsp. Salt & 1/2 tsp.baking soda & 1/4 tsp.ground cayenne pepper. (Hot Mixture will bubble up)
Pour mixture over popped popcorn, toss to coat.
Spread onto a large parchment lined sheet pan.
Bake in a 300 degree oven for 20 mins.
Buffalo wing popcorn can be made the morning before tailgating.  It's consumption will lift the spirits & help relieve depression if needed!

 

Stuffed Celery

Stuffed celery with cream cheese, leftover chicken, hot sauce and chilli power.
Mix cream cheese, chicken, spices and stuff cleaned celery the night before and put in baggies and u r ready to tailgate. Enjoy !!
