Learn more about our second Nurse of the month: KARRI REICHMUTH!

May 15, 2017

Our second Nurses' Month winner is Karri Reichmuth!! She has been working as a nurse at Buffalo Veterans Administration Medical Center for 11 years. She went into nursing because she always wanted to help people in some way and make a difference in other people's lives. The thing she loves the most about her job is that she works in the ICU and loves seeing how she can make such a difference.Watching people come in, serious conditions and then watching them overcome their battle and see them live their life again is a privelage! Outside of work she has 4 kids and spends most of her time with them. She also enjoys baking and spending time with family!

Her co-worker Dawn nominated her, and this is her entry:
“Karri goes above and beyond being the stellar nurse advocate for her ICU veterans and providing care second to none.  She always looks to how she can make things safer and better for the veterans and the staff.  Additionally, she never turns down a request for help from other floors even when swamped in the ICU.  When she is our Charge RN, She is constantly trouble shooting and planning to ensure the shifts that follow go as smoothly as possible.  During the time of great challenges in nursing (i.e. staff, morale, increasing documentation), she NEVER EVER fails to give the staff and veterans at work 110% before going home to a family of four little ones!  She is truly incredible and deserving of recognition not given enough in our field.”
