Eddie Vedder Makes Christmas For Family Who Had Never Heard Of Him

December 27, 2016
A woman named Tyshika Britten posted a message on Craigslist saying her family of five were facing eviction from their home in Maryland, and there probably wouldn't be Christmas gifts or a tree. Strangers started sending all sorts gifts trying to make a little Christmas magic. Critics were quick to say that she shouldn't have had so many kids if she couldn't afford them and that Britten was just being greedy by accepting all of them.

After the story went viral, Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder saw it and sent a $10,000 check. According to The Washington Post, the family had never heard of Vedder and starting Googling him immediately. Vedder said, "I thought those kids must be so proud of their mother for reaching out. That takes a lot of courage."
