Bob Dylan Sending A Surrogate To The Nobel Prize Ceremony

December 6, 2016
In an effort to make sure the Nobel Prize committee never picks a musician again, Bob Dylan says he's too busy to attend the ceremony in Stockholm on December 10th to pick up his literature prize. But it's cool, he's sending a stand-in.

Rock goddess Patti Smith will be there in his place and will perform Dylan's "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall." Bob has also prepared a speech to be delivered by someone else. So he's not quite "phoning it in," but close.
