Ben Stiller: "A Blood Test Saved My Life"

October 4, 2016
Actor Ben Stiller is revealing details of his two year battle with prostate cancer.

He says he survived the cancer thanks to a routine blood test known as a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test.

Stiller explains to US Weekly that the test first showed cause for alarm before an MRI, and a biopsy confirmed he had the disease two years ago. "At first, I didn't know what was going to happen," he said, but now he's beat the disease.

Ben wants others to know a PSA test "saved my life" and could save others, too. Stiller explains, "Every six months I'm taking my PSA test to make sure I'm clear."
