3 Things To Watch For At The Golden Globes Sunday

January 6, 2017
Jimmy Fallon is hosting the Golden Globes on Sunday night, the awards show that combines TV and Movies. Here are three things to watch for:

1) A Saturday Night Live style cold open: Jimmy Fallon is of course an SNL alum and he said he'll be starting the show that way. He told Extra, "They've never done a cold opening like a sketch, and it's good." There are rumors Tina Fey will be part of it too.

2) Upsets from new TV shows: Lots of new TV shows like Westworld, This Is Us, and Stranger Things could upset long time favorites like Game of Thrones.

3) At least a small tribute to Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds: The Golden Globes don't do an "In Memoriam" segment like many awards shows do, but with how recent and shocking the mother-daughter deaths were, you can expect to see at least a small acknowledgment.

By the way Meryl Streep is receiving a lifetime achievement award, so we'll see lots of her too!

The awards air Sunday evening at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT on NBC.
