Dr. Chris Donaghue is here for your emotional well-being

September 9, 2020

Now more than ever we are feeling a full range of emotions each day. RADIO.COM host Dr. Chris Donaghue explains how setting boundaries can help us determine when and what emotions we want to share with others, while also feeling comfortable on our own. Talk has the power to save lives.

Part of the I’m Listening goal is to ensure that conversations around our mental-well being are always met with kindness and understanding. As we lead up to our September 23 I’m Listening broadcast during National Suicide Prevention Month, we aim to highlight various tools that will allow for positive routines for our mental health.

It is crucial to make yourself comfortable not only psychically, but mentally as well. Setting boundaries is a tool that allows us to create safe perimeters to gauge what we can handle mentally.

Often times the form our boundaries take can shift over time, but Dr. Chris expresses that it is always okay to constantly communicate what you are and are not comfortable with.

Dr. Chris also emphasizes that if we don’t set boundaries we can fall into the routine of toxic positivity, particularly during the pandemic. Boundaries are meant to let us feel a full range of emotions, things do not always need to be productive for us to feel comfortable.

Don’t miss the I’m Listening broadcast on Wednesday, September 23 at 6PM. Connect with artists and athletes as they share their own mental health journeys and triumphs. Check out our full lineup here.

RADIO.COM’s I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone.
