'Miss My Bro': Kanye West Shares Feelings on Missing JAY-Z

Ye takes to Twitter again

August 11, 2020

All this family dramz has Kanye West all up in his feels. After weeks of twitter rants in which he called his mother-in-law Kris Jong-Un and made false promises of presidency, the rapper is taking to social media again, but this time to reach out to his former bestie, JAY-Z.

The two artists used to be beyond tight, but since the release their joint album Watch The Throne in 2011, their relationship has been tested and become quite strained over the years. However, as the album celebrated its nine-year anniversary on Saturday, West found himself reflecting on the days of collaborating with JAY-Z by retweeting a fan account post of a video of the pair's performance of "Otis" at the 2011 MTV VMAs. In addition, Ye also tweeted out a message of his own, “Miss my bro ... real talk,” accompanied by a screenshot of the performance.

Ye didn’t actually tag his famous friend in the post, maybe he forgot, or maybe it’s because Mr.Carter hasn’t been active on Twitter since 2018. Either way, the rightful recipient of the message was abundantly clear.

While the two Hip Hop moguls aren’t as close as they once were, they’re shared respect for one another keeps them remaining cordial. Even after reportedly settling a legal feud involving JAY’s streaming service Tidal, in December of the last year, the two were seen posing for pics at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ 50th Birthday party. JAY even went on to say that “Follow God” was one of his favorite songs of 2019 as part of his “Year End Picks."

A year before that JAY spoke highly of his relationship with Kanye during a sit-down with David Letterman for his Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Saying, "that’s my brother, we’re beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye. And like your little brother, things happen sometimes.”

We feel that JAY, we have a younger brother too. When it comes to these two, it seems as though no matter what, they are family, even if they aren’t directly speaking to each other, the love is still there. And while Ye likes to tweet out his thoughts, JAY keeps things more private, and something tells us that Kanye will be receiving an “I miss you too bro” call.
