Roughly 300 high school students were exposed to coronavirus after attending a "pong fest" party in Lakeway, Texas last month.

Several of the teens have since tested positive for COVID-19, reported CNN.

The Mayor of Lakeway said the exposure is so vast that contact-tracing is impossible and they hope they can contain it.

"Unfortunately, our case load is probably going to increase, and it's because there was a very large party this past Saturday, and it was with a number of high school students, and there were students in attendance that were positive for COVID-19," said Lakeway Mayor Sandy Cox said in a Facebook Live video.

The gathering, which includes playing the beer drinking game, took place on June 20th at an undisclosed location.

Individuals who attended the event are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Cox said it is unclear if the party has led to a high increase of positive cases. Lakeway has had 105 cases, 50 of which are currently active, the mayor added.

This news comes as politicians across the country urge Americans to avoid large gatherings over the 4th of July weekend as posititve cases continue to surge around the country.

Texas recently hit pause on reopenings and made wearing face coverings mandatory.
